1. Data controller
The controller for personal data collected on domaine-rives-ormoy.fr is Jonathan Rodier, who operates the Domaine des Rives d’Ormoy, based at 2 rue des Carnaux, 91150 Ormoy-la-Rivière, France. For any question about your personal data, you can contact him at domaine.rives.ormoy@gmail.com.
2. Data collected and purposes
Getting in touch (phone, email)
The site has no contact form: the "Contact" links open your email client or phone dialler directly. No data is collected or stored by the site itself in this process; any resulting exchange (email or call) is handled directly by the Domaine des Rives d’Ormoy for the sole purpose of responding to your request.
Online booking
The "Booking" page includes a search tool that redirects you to Beds24 (beds24.com), the secure platform we use to manage our bookings, to complete your booking. The data you enter there (identity, contact details, payment information) is collected and processed directly by Beds24 GmbH (Germany), acting as a data processor on behalf of the Domaine des Rives d’Ormoy for booking management. We invite you to review Beds24’s privacy policy for more information on this processing — beds24.com/company/privacypolicy.
Virtual assistant (chatbot)
The site offers a chat assistant at the bottom of the page. If you use it:
- an anonymous session identifier and your conversation history (limited to the last 40 messages) are stored locally in your device’s browser (localStorage), so the conversation can continue from one visit to the next;
- the content of your messages is sent to our technical service and then to Anthropic, PBC (United States), whose artificial intelligence generates the reply; no information is used for commercial or advertising purposes, or shared with any other third party.
You can clear this history at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this website.
3. Cookies and trackers
domaine-rives-ormoy.fr does not use any advertising cookies or audience-measurement tools (no Google Analytics or equivalent). Only the following are used:
- technical cookies set by Cloudflare, our hosting provider, strictly necessary for the site’s security and proper functioning (bot protection, load balancing);
- local storage (localStorage, not a cookie) mentioned in section 2, for the virtual assistant and to avoid showing the welcome message more than once;
- cookies set by Beds24 once you are redirected to its booking platform.
As these elements are strictly necessary for the site to function, no consent banner is required for them.
4. Recipients and data transfers
The data described above may be processed by the following providers:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (site hosting, United States);
- Beds24 GmbH (booking engine, Germany);
- Anthropic, PBC (United States), which generates the virtual assistant’s replies from the content of your messages.
Where these providers are located outside the European Union, data transfers are governed by the safeguards required by applicable law (in particular, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses). No data is sold or used for advertising purposes.
5. Retention period
Email or phone exchanges are kept for as long as needed to handle your request. Booking data is retained by Beds24 in accordance with its own policy and applicable legal (including accounting) retention obligations. The chatbot history stays on your device and is not retained on our servers beyond the time needed to generate a reply.
6. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and French data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability and to restrict processing. You can exercise these rights by writing to domaine.rives.ormoy@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL) — www.cnil.fr.
7. Security
The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Reasonable technical measures are in place to protect data passing through the site against unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.
